Uses of Baking Soda
Baking Soda, a gem of a product…. The other day my husband got stung by a wasp and my friend suggested making a paste of baking soda and water and putting on the sting to pull any residue stinger out. It worked… So I thought I would write about the many uses of this little gem of a product for cleaning and our general well being.
Did you know that if you pee in a cup with baking soda in it when pregnant and it fizzes, you are likely to be carrying a boy!!
Also my dentist told me not to have the expensive whitening treatment but to use baking soda when brushing my teeth, just wet your toothbrush, dip it in baking soda, put your toothpaste on top and brush….it really works!!
My daughter is a swimmer and her hair is dulled by chlorine. You can buy those expensive shampoos or just use a clarifying shampoo and rub baking soda through the hair to bring back the shine.
Mixing it with conditioner keeps your hair healthy and resistant to split ends.
Sprinkle baking soda into cracks on walk ways and paths to discourage weed growth.
Use a pinch in a gallon of freshly brewed tea to take away the bitterness and prevent cloudiness.
Get rid of heartburn by adding 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda to water and drink. This is especially good for pregnant women.
Clean your drains by adding 1/2 cup of baking soda to the drain followed by 1/2 cup of vinegar. Let it sit for 30 minutes then rinse with hot water.
To clean the family silver, make a paste of baking soda and water, rub onto the silver with a dry clean cloth. Rinse and dry.
Add it to 3 eggs for a fluffier omelet.
