When the snowbirds start to arrive in Florida in October, the local communities roll out the red carpet. The sleepy humid Florida summer comes to an end and once quite towns are full of activity. Staying busy is one of the most important things to do after you retire. Keeping busy helps keep you in good physical health and your mind fresh and sharp. Our local communities do a great job or providing all kinds of activities for retirees who come here to spend the winter months.

October signals the beginning of winter, and along with the arrival of the snowbirds, the humidity goes down and being outdoors becomes a pleasure. The days are still hot, but the humidity is greatly reduced. It is also the month that sees a lot of additions to the municipal events calendar of our local cities. For example, this weekend, Dunedin hosted an antique fair.

The Dunedin Antique Fair And Car Show is one of the first big events of the winter season for the City of Dunedin. It is a great opportunity to come downtown and stroll around looking at the different items on display.
